US Vice President Kamala Harris said that the assassination attempt on former President Donald Trump should not lead to even greater violence.

“I am deeply alarmed by today’s possible assassination attempt on former President Trump. While we gather the facts, I am clear: I condemn political violence. We must all do our part to prevent this incident from leading to more violence,”  Harris said, whose the words are quoted on the White House website.

She added that she was glad Trump was safe. The Vice President commended the vigilance of the United States Secret Service and its law enforcement partners.
