Greece condemned the decision to illuminate the parliament building in the colors of the Israeli flag.

The parliamentary faction of the Communist Party of Greece (KKE) called the decision to illuminate the Greek parliament building in the colors of the Israeli flag, which is “killing the Palestinian people,” unacceptable.

On Wednesday evening, an image of the flag of the State of Israel appeared on the Greek Parliament building. As stated by the Speaker of the Greek Parliament, Konstantinos Tasoulas, this was done as a sign of solidarity with the Israeli people for the inhumane terrorist attacks they suffered from Hamas.

According to him, this was done in conjunction with other European parliaments and symbolic public and private buildings.

The parliamentary faction of the KKE expressed disagreement with this.

“The parliamentary faction of the KKE considers unacceptable the decision of the government of New Democracy and the President of the Greek Parliament to illuminate the parliament building in the colors of the flag of the State of Israel, which has been carrying out a long-term barbaric occupation of the Palestinian territories, killing the Palestinian people, bombing and imposing an inhumane blockade of the Gaza Strip and preparing for a ground intervention.” , –  the message of the KKE faction says.
