Germany has introduced temporary controls at land borders.

German Interior Minister Nancy Feser ordered the introduction of temporary control measures at all German land borders to reduce the influx of migrants and as part of the fight against the terrorist threat.

To further limit the number of people entering the country without a visa, Federal Interior Minister Nancy Faser (SPD) ordered temporary controls at all German land borders and notified the European Commission.

In addition to the fight against illegal migration, with the help of this measure, the head of the German Ministry of Internal Affairs hopes to contribute to protection against the threat of terrorism and cross-border crime.

Until today, temporary stationary controls were in effect at the German borders with the Czech Republic, Poland, Switzerland and Austria.

The debate about tightening immigration policies in Germany intensified after the terrorist attack in the city of Solingen on August 23, when a Syrian citizen killed three people with a knife and wounded eight more.
