Former Brazilian President Bolsonaro gathered thousands of people for a rally.

Former Brazilian President Jair Bolsonaro gathered several thousand people in Sao Paulo to speak out in support of prisoners in the coup case.

“Bolsonaro spoke out in support of an amnesty for prisoners in the January 8 coup d’etat case on Paulista Avenue (in the center of São Paulo). The demonstration was called at the initiative of Bolsonaro, people occupied about six blocks,” local media reported.

I seek peace… Today I ask the 513 deputies and 81 senators for amnesty so that justice can be done in our Brazil,” Bolsonaro said.

The ex-president once again stated that he had nothing to do with the coup attempt.

Bolsonaro supporters, who have been protesting against the results of the presidential elections since the end of 2022, seized the congress building in the capital of Brazil on January 8, 2023, broke into the territory of the Planalto Palace, the presidential residence, and also into the Supreme Court building.

The police only managed to clear government buildings of protesters in the evening; they were looted, as a result of which about two thousand people were detained.
