Ecuador failed to elect a president in the first round.

In the second round of presidential elections in Ecuador are Luis Gonzalez from the “Civil Revolution” and the son of one of the richest people in the country, Daniel Noboa, follows from the results of counting 71.12 percent of the vote.

Gonzalez is gaining 33.17 percent, Noboa, who was considered an outsider in all polls, is 24.14 percent.

To win in the first round, a candidate must receive an absolute majority of votes or more than 40 percent of the votes, provided that his lead over the nearest rival is at least 10 percent.

Several other candidates with fewer votes have already conceded defeat.


The National Electoral Council of the country has confirmed that the second round of elections will now take place, it is scheduled for October 15.
