US federal authorities are not open to cooperation with Florida law enforcement officers as part of the investigation into the second attempt on the life of Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump, state Governor Ron DeSantis said.

“They are not open to cooperation, and yes, I am concerned… I think they have chosen their position – they do not want the state of Florida to be involved,” DeSantis said on Fox News.
⠀
At the same time, the politician noted that the suspect in the attempt, Ryan Wesley Routh, allegedly violated Florida laws many times, and therefore state authorities have an obligation to investigate the case and bring charges against him, as well as inform the public about the progress of the case.

The second assassination attempt on Trump occurred on September 15 at his golf club in Florida. According to law enforcement, Secret Service officers opened fire on the intruder, who was hiding in the bushes. The man ran away and tried to escape in a car, but was detained. At the place where he was spotted, an AK-47 assault rifle with an optical sight, two backpacks and a GoPro action camera were found. The FBI joined the investigation. The first attempt on Trump’s life occurred on July 13 in Pennsylvania.
