Denmark will spend $139 million to strengthen its personnel strategy.

The Danish Ministry of Defense has developed “40 HR strategy initiatives to improve recruitment and retention of military personnel.” 965 million crowns (more than $139 million) have been allocated for these purposes for 2024-2033, as agreed between the parliamentary parties, according to a press release from the military department.

“Clear career prospects, enhanced competency development and [service] flexibility for employees who have just become parents are just some of the 40 initiatives of the new personnel strategy, which, based on the interests of employees, should contribute to solving problems in the field of the Ministry of Defense,” – the document says.

We have big ambitions to build our defense over a long period of time. But we can succeed if we can create jobs where workers will want to be and stay. People are our greatest resource, and they have a unique and significant task in the name of our country and our security. We have tried to reflect this in the updated PR strategy, where we are expanding investment in our employees,”  Defense Minister Troels Lund Poulsen said.
