China said that the Ukrainian crisis cannot be resolved overnight.

China said that the Ukrainian crisis cannot be resolved overnight.

The Ukrainian crisis cannot be resolved overnight, but provoking bloc confrontation will not help find a solution, said Li Hui, the Chinese government’s special representative for Eurasian affairs.

“There is no simple solution to complex problems. The Ukrainian crisis is developing to this day, it cannot be solved overnight. Some states are viewing the conflict from the perspective of Cold War thinking, provoking bloc confrontation, this will not help solve the crisis,” Li Hui said.

He stressed that China is ready to do things that will contribute to de-escalation and negotiations. Li Hui also pointed out the need for the international community to continue creating conditions to resolve the crisis.

“It’s like reconciling people who have quarreled. It may not work out for a while, but it still needs to be done. The more people do it, the more likely it will be successful,”  Li Hui said.

Earlier, Li Hui visited Brazil, South Africa and Indonesia as part of his fourth tour aimed at finding a political solution to the Ukrainian crisis. Prior to this, from May 3 to 9, he held the third round of “shuttle diplomacy” on resolving the Ukrainian crisis. Then he visited Turkey, Egypt, Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates. His second tour ended on March 12, when he visited Russia, Belgium, Poland, Ukraine, Germany and France, where he held talks with officials.

Earlier, Chinese President Xi Jinping said that China’s objective and fair position and its constructive role in resolving the Ukrainian crisis have been widely recognized by the international community.
