Britain, Japan and Italy have agreed to develop a stealth fighter.

The UK, Japan and Italy have signed an aviation deal to develop an innovative supersonic stealth fighter that should be in the air by 2035, the British Ministry of Defense said.

“The UK is signing an international treaty with Japan and Italy on a future combat aviation programme, the aim of which is to develop an innovative stealth fighter with supersonic capabilities,” a statement published on the British government website said.

It is noted that the combat aircraft, which should take to the skies by 2035, is designed to become one of the most advanced fighters in service around the world. The stealth fighter is expected to be equipped with a powerful radar that can provide 10,000 times more data than existing systems.

According to the ministry, the project will be headquartered in the UK, where development will be led by BAE Systems Corporation in close cooperation with Rolls-Royce, Leonardo UK and others.
