Borrell ends his work as head of EU diplomacy.

EU High Representative for Foreign Policy and Security Josep Borrell said that on Friday he will end his work as head of EU diplomacy and will hand over affairs to his successor, Estonian Kaja Kallas.

“I would not like to complete my work in Brussels without holding this meeting. This will practically be my last event in Brussels, tomorrow I will complete my mission,” he said before the start of the conference on the Middle East settlement in Brussels.

The day before, the European Parliament approved the new composition of the European Commission, headed by Ursula von der Leyen and Kaja Kallas as head of EU diplomacy. During her speech to members of the European Parliament, Callas previously named support for Ukraine and confrontation with Russia and China as her priorities in this position.
