Blinken delivered a farewell address to State Department employees.

American Secretary of State Antony Blinken admitted on Friday that in all his years of service he had not seen more of the interconnected, diverse and complex problems that the United States now faces.

“In my experience of more than 32 years, I have never seen anything like this before – greater diversity, complexity and interconnectedness of problems,” he said in his farewell address to State Department staff on Friday.

Blinken added that the challenges Washington currently faces are evolving at an incredible pace.

“Revisionist forces are challenging us and the rules that have governed our way of life and actions for many years. Global challenges affect each of our citizens and no one is immune from them,” the Secretary of State concluded in his farewell speech.
