US President Joe Biden will visit Germany this week after his visit to the Ramstein summit was cancelled, German government spokesman Wolfgang Büchner said.

“I can confirm that the US President will make up for his missed visit to Germany at the end of this week,” he told reporters during a briefing of the German Cabinet of Ministers.

Earlier, Biden decided to postpone one of his last trips as head of state to Germany and Angola due to the outbreak of Hurricane Milton. In Germany, Biden was scheduled to visit the Ramstein military base, where the summit of the contact group on providing military assistance to Ukraine was to take place.

The US President stated that he still intends to visit Germany and Angola, but another time. Spiegel later reported that the summit would be postponed so that Biden could attend. After Biden’s refusal to visit Germany and the expected postponement of the summit, Vladimir Zelensky planned and implemented a number of visits to European countries.

Later, the ZDF television channel, citing its sources, reported that despite the upcoming visit of US President Joe Biden to Germany, there will not be a new meeting of the contact group on providing military assistance to Ukraine in the Ramstein format in the near future.
