Barack and Michelle Obama supported Harris’ candidacy in the election race.

Barack and Michelle Obama supported Harris’ candidacy in the election race.

Former US President Barack Obama and his wife Michelle said during a telephone call that they support the candidacy of Vice President Kamala Harris in the election race. A video recording of the conversation was posted on the vice president’s YouTube channel.

“Michelle and I couldn’t be prouder to stand with you and will do everything we can to get you through this election and into the Oval Office,” Obama said.

Earlier, NBC News, citing sources, reported that Obama plans to soon announce his support for Harris in the presidential election. Earlier, the New York Post, citing a source in the Biden family, reported that Obama did not support the possible nomination of Harris as the Democratic presidential candidate because he did not believe that she could defeat the Republican candidate, former US President Donald Trump.

Current head of state Joe Biden announced on July 21 that he would not run for a second term and supported Harris’ candidacy. Trump has repeatedly stated that Harris will be much easier for him to defeat than Biden. The US presidential elections are scheduled for November 5th.
