Chief Advisor to the President of Turkey Akif Çağatay Kılıç, answering a question about the date of Russian President Vladimir Putin’s visit to Turkey, told CNN Türk that Ankara and Moscow are in discussions.

The Turkish TV channel A Haber reported earlier that the leaders of Turkey and the Russian Federation, Recep Tayyip Erdogan and Vladimir Putin, could hold personal talks in late August – early September, and Erdogan’s visit to Russia is not ruled out. The date and place of the planned talks between the presidents of Turkey and Russia are still under discussion, the Turkish side is counting on August, a source in the administration of the Turkish leader told.

 

The press secretary of the Russian leader, Dmitry Peskov, told reporters earlier that Putin and Erdogan agreed to determine exactly the place and timing of the meeting as soon as possible. According to him, in the upcoming agenda of the talks between the two leaders, bilateral relations, Ukraine and the issue of “grain deal”.

“In the last phone conversation, our president invited him (Vladimir Putin) again. At the moment, the work is ongoing. But you can understand that due to the situation in which Russia is now, negotiations on the schedule and work are ongoing. You know that Recently, there have been some domestic political events and security incidents. Therefore, we continue to work at this moment,” Kılıç said, answering a question from a CNN Turk correspondent about the date of the Russian President’s visit.
