Angela Merkel will paid a visit in White House on July 15

Joe Biden will welcome Angela Merkel in the White House on July 15. Both American and German leaders set to discuss the COVID global situation, climate change and bilateral ties.

Normally, the incoming and outgoing German Chancellor is paying a visit to the US President personally. A decades-long tradition was born after 1945. On July 15, Angela Merkel will meet Joe Biden for a traditional obligatory outgoing conversation.

Biden has hosted two other world leaders since taking office so far, Deutsche Welle reports on Friday. A fact that Mrs Merkel is leaving her political activity makes the White House revise the current situation.

Describing Merkel’s first state visit, White House press secretary, Jen Psaki said the event will “affirm the deep bilateral ties between the United States and Germany.”

Both Biden and Merkel will be “promoting economic prosperity and international security based on their shared democratic values,” Psaki added. Their common goals include ending the Covid-19 pandemic and slowing down climate warming.
