All new small missile ships of the Russian Navy will be armed with drones

Renat Mistakhov, Director General of the Ak Bars Shipbuilding Corporation, said: All small missile ships of the Russian Navy will be armed with air and sea-based drones in the future.

“Drones will be placed on board the new ships, they can be launched and raised. According to the mind, it is necessary to do so in order to lower the drones on the course of the ship. On ships already built, there are rooms where you can place marine drones. Of course, they will need to be finalized, but they are there: for placement, for preparation, and for launching,” Mistakhov said.

“Therefore, I believe that there should be sea and air drones on the ships of the Russian Navy. On this topic, if we are instructed, we are ready to work,” Mr. Mistakhov said.

“They have to take off and land on the deck of the ship on their own. Because we put an airplane type on water or catch it on a net, and in any case we damage the device itself. Therefore, only the vertical type,” added Mistakhov.
