Afghan authorities plan cooperation with Russia on the purchase of gas and oil

Afghan charge d’affaires in Moscow Jamal Nasir Garwal said that Afghanistan intends to buy gas and oil from Russia, and this is not the only cooperation in the economic sphere.

“We are negotiating in the sphere of business and finance. As for specific areas, we are interested in purchasing fuel, gas, this is what our country needs in the first place,” the diplomat says

“We really want the work on the TAPI project to continue, so that our cooperation within the project continues. At the moment, there are a lot of people who want to,” Garhwal added.

The construction of the TAPI pipeline (Turkmenistan-Afghanistan-Pakistan-India) was started back in 2015. Based on the project data, it will be 1,814 km long and 30 billion cubic meters in capacity.
