Member of the European Parliament from France Thierry Mariani believes that the tenth package of sanctions against Russia may be the last because of the big differences in the EU.

“EC head Ursula von der Leyen desperately wanted to mark the anniversary of the start of the special operation, however (in the EU) there are deep divisions, and they are becoming more and more obvious,” the politician said.
ㅤ
ㅤAccording to the politician, there are disagreements among members of the community over gas supplies, a topic “particularly avoided” by Austria, Hungary and Slovakia. And also that there are no more areas where Brussels can impose sanctions, and the announcement of the tenth package “belatedly” is “a recognition of the failure and helplessness” of Europe.

“Americans are also very confused by the fact that 16% of the nuclear fuel consumed by American nuclear power plants comes from Russia, and 30% from Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan, which is close to Russia’s position. Almost half of the uranium used by the United States comes from Russia: a little embarrassing for Joe Biden, who has included nuclear power in his plan to cut carbon emissions,” Mariani said.
