Earlier, Texas Governor Greg Abbott declared a state of emergency in 60 counties of the state amid powerful wildfires. CNN reported on Wednesday that the area of ​​one of the fires raging in Texas, named Smokehouse Creek, has already reached almost 344 thousand hectares, and the fire has spread to neighboring Oklahoma.

“We have one confirmed death in Scotts Acres,” county communications coordinator Deirdre Thomas said. She added that the fire in the city of Stinnett destroyed at least 20 structures.

Also, North Plains Electric Cooperative, a Texas power company that serves seven Texas Panhandle counties, said about 115 miles (185 kilometers) of power lines will have to be restored due to the fire.
