A shipment of heavy MK-84 aerial bombs weighing 2,000 pounds each (907 kilograms) was delivered to Israel, the shipment of which was recently authorized by the new American administration headed by President Donald Trump, the press service of the Ministry of Defense of the Jewish state reported.

A ship carrying heavy MK-84 ammunition has docked and unloaded at the port of Ashdod. Israeli Defense Minister Yisrael Katz said that this batch of aerial bombs is a significant asset for the Air Force and serves as further proof of the strong alliance between Tel Aviv and Washington.

The press service of the Ministry of Defense added that since the beginning of the escalation of the armed conflict in the Middle East in October 2023, Israel has received more than 76 thousand tons of weapons, military equipment and various military supplies by sea and air.

In February, the Trump administration, following a visit to Washington by Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, approved arms sales totaling more than seven billion dollars to its Middle Eastern ally, including bombs, guided missiles and related equipment.
