The provinces of Canada make restrictions on American alcohol in response to Washington’s introduction of duties on Canadian goods, CBC reports.

Earlier, US President Donald Trump signed a decree on the introduction of duties on goods from Canada. The US imported duties of 25% are introduced against all goods from Canada, except for energy resources, the rate on them will be 10%.

“The provinces react to Trump’s duties, withdrawing American alcohol from the shelves,” the television channel said.

According to the television channel, in Ontario, products from the United States are removed not only from shelves, but also from catalogs so that local shops and restaurants could not order it.

In British Colombia, brands of alcoholic beverages from the republican states begin to withdraw from the shelves of state stores. The province also promised to stop the purchases of alcohol from those states whose governors belong to the Republican Party of the United States.

The authorities of New Scotland, in addition to countermeasures against drinks, intend to abandon current transactions with American partners, the channel notes.

Restrictions on alcohol from the United States are introduced in Quebec, Newfoundland and Labrador, Manitobe and the island of Prince Edward, CBC emphasizes.
