The Pentagon announced the combat readiness of the US strategic deterrent forces.

The US strategic deterrent force is in a state of combat readiness, Rear Admiral Thomas Buchanan, a spokesman for the US Department of Defense Strategic Command, said on Wednesday.

“The forces are in a state of readiness to carry out orders … from commanders, submarines continue to take to the water, intercontinental ballistic missiles continue to remain ready, bombers continue to carry out maintenance. Therefore, nuclear forces are ready,” he said at a speech at the Center for Strategic and International Affairs Research (CSIS) in Washington.

According to him, nuclear forces are also ready for the transfer of power to the United States in connection with the accession to the presidency of Donald Trump, who won the election.

“From this perspective, Strategic Command remains committed to working with our new leaders and those appointed to the Department of Defense to ensure civilian control of the Army,” Buchanan added.
