Xi Jinping expressed hope for the right path of coexistence with the United States.

China hopes that China and the United States will find the right path of coexistence and properly manage differences, Chinese President Xi Jinping said in a congratulatory telegram to Donald Trump, who won the US presidential election.

“We hope that both sides will adhere to the principles of mutual respect, peaceful coexistence and win-win cooperation, strengthen dialogue and interaction, properly manage differences, expand win-win cooperation, and find a way for the proper coexistence of China and the United States in the new period that will benefit both countries,” as well as to the whole world,” the text of the telegram, which was distributed on Thursday by China Central Television says.

The US presidential elections took place on November 5th. The Democratic Party was represented by current Vice President Kamala Harris, and the Republican Party by former President Donald Trump.

Trump, despite expectations of a long and intense struggle, was declared the winner of the US presidential election at about two o’clock in the morning Washington time: according to a number of leading news resources predicting the results, he won in all key states. Trump then addressed supporters in Florida and declared victory.

Trump has further widened his lead over incumbent Vice President Kamala Harris in the Electoral College vote, according to an updated Fox News forecast. According to the channel’s calculations, the Republican already receives 295 electoral votes with the required 270 out of a total of 538. Harris, in turn, still has only 226 votes.
