The Chinese Foreign Ministry responded to Biden’s words about the “dictator” Xi Jinping.

The Chinese Foreign Ministry reacted sharply to the words of US President Joe Biden, who again called Chinese President Xi Jinping a dictator.

After talks with the Chinese leader, Biden told reporters that his view of him as a dictator had not changed.

“This statement is extremely wrong and irresponsible, China resolutely opposes political manipulation,”  Chinese Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Mao Ning said.

She noted that there are always “people with ulterior motives” who try to provoke and undermine China-US relations. But this will not be successful, the diplomat concluded.

Negotiations between Biden and Xi Jinping took place on the sidelines of the APEC summit, which is taking place in San Francisco. The meeting lasted four hours. Following its results, Biden said that he and the leader of the People’s Republic of China “took tangible steps in the right direction.” The Chinese Foreign Ministry reported that the parties have outlined a plan for the implementation of healthy and stable development of relations.
