A passenger bus overturned in southern Turkey

About 40 people were injured, eight of them seriously, in a road accident in the Turkish city of Kayseri, in the south of the country, Ihlas (İHA) news agency reported.

“At the 91st kilometer of the Kayseri-Malatya highway, in the Karaboğaz Mevkii area, a passenger bus of the Muş Ovası company with license plate 34 KG 4949 driven by Burhan D., traveling from Mus to Istanbul, allegedly lost control on a slippery road due to strong rain on the road and overturned,” the agency reports.

The agency said in a statement that the accident injured 38 of the 41 people on the bus, eight of them seriously.

“After receiving the message, ambulances, police, gendarmerie, firefighters and rescuers were sent to the region,” the statement said.


The overturned bus was lifted using a crane. Due to the accident, the Kayseri-Malatya highway was closed.
An investigation has been launched into the accident.
