Macron: no progress was made at the G20 summit in resolving the conflict in Ukraine.

The G20 summit is not the place to expect progress in a diplomatic solution to the Ukrainian conflict, French President Emmanuel Macron said at a press conference following the summit.

“This is not the place where there would be major successes today, especially when we are dealing with the situation (in Ukraine) that is on the ground today… This is not the place where there would be diplomatic progress on this issue,” – Macron said.

Earlier, the Financial Times wrote that the declaration of the G20 summit in India was a blow to Western countries due to the lack of global consensus on supporting Ukraine.

India holds the G20 presidency from December 1, 2022. The group’s leadership summit was held in New Delhi on September 9-10. Leaders of the G20 countries and nine other countries were invited to it – Bangladesh, Egypt, Spain, Mauritius, Nigeria, the Netherlands, the UAE, Oman and Singapore.
