In Japan, an anti-tank projectile that went missing during the exercises was found.

The Japan Ground Self-Defense Forces command reported the discovery of a projectile that allegedly flew out of the range during an exercise on the northern island of Hokkaido.

The day before, Japanese media reported that during the exercises held on August 28, the military practiced firing anti-tank shells. After one of the volleys, the military could not confirm the fact that the target was hit or the presence of a projectile near the target, and therefore it was assumed that the projectile could fly out of the range.

The area in the direction of which the firing was carried out is covered with forests.

The ejected projectile was found in the ground 1.3 kilometers from the target. In turn, the TBS channel clarified that as a result of the search, the projectile was found on the same day at a distance from the target, but within the range.

The military clarified that the cause of the incident was incorrectly set target parameters during firing.

Currently, the circumstances of the incident are being clarified to prevent a recurrence of the incident, the TV channel adds. In addition, a warning about possible errors in the parameters during the guidance during the exercise was sent to other parts of the ground self-defense forces.
