The social network Twitter has updated its logo, instead of a blue bird on the site, you can now see a black and white letter X.
⠀
Earlier, the official Twitter account on the platform of the same name, as part of the announced rebranding, changed its name to X, and its avatar instead of the traditional blue bird logo was a large letter X, executed in white on a black background.
⠀
In turn, the owner of Twitter – American billionaire Elon Musk – shared on his profile on Monday a night photo of the company’s headquarters, the building of which was also illuminated by the new logo.
⠀
On Sunday, Musk announced that the x.com domain would redirect netizens to the Twitter home page. The businessman promised to say goodbye to the bird on the logo of the social network, saying that he was considering replacing it with the letter X. In Musk’s view, it symbolizes the imperfection of people, which makes them unique.
⠀
In April, it became known about the takeover of Twitter Inc. X Corp., headquartered in Nevada. Musk later stated in an interview with Babylon Bee Talks that he “believes in descriptive brands, and X can mean anything.” According to the businessman, his vision of the social platform as a platform for posting videos, photos and large texts goes beyond the original concept of the social network as a tool for exchanging short messages, and “Twitter may not be the right brand for this.”
⠀
Twitter Inc. was founded in 2006. The main product of the company is a social network for exchanging short messages. Musk finally closed the $44 billion acquisition deal in the fall of 2022.
