Poland will transfer troops to the eastern borders because of the exercises in Belarus.

Polish Minister of National Defense Mariusz Blaszczak decided to transfer combat units from the west to the east of the country because of the exercises in Belarus, Zbigniew Hoffman, secretary of the government’s security committee said.

“The Committee analyzed possible threats, such as the deployment of parts of the Wagner Group. Therefore, the Minister of National Defense, Chairman of the Government Security Committee, Mariusz Blaszczak, decided to transfer our military formations from the west to the east of Poland,” the official said.

According to him, “the joint exercises of the Belarusian army and the Wagner Group are undoubtedly a provocation.”

As the press service of the Ministry of Defense of Belarus reported the day before, units of the armed forces, together with fighters of the private military company (PMC) Wagner, will train for a week at a training ground in the south-west of the republic.

The department added that “under the current geopolitical situation, the real combat experience that PMCs have is an opportunity to continue developing the course that the Belarusian army has taken to modernize, re-equip and quickly introduce the experience of modern military conflicts into the training program.”

Earlier in July, it was also reported that Wagner PMC fighters conducted a briefing for territorial defense units near the town of Osipovichi, Mogilev Region.
