South Korea does not change its position on the supply of weapons to Kyiv.

The position of the South Korean government regarding the non-provision of air weapons to Ukraine remains unchanged, said Defense Ministry spokesman Chung Ha-gyu.

“There is no change in the government’s position that South Korea does not provide airborne weapons,” he said.

The day before, the administration of South Korean President Yun Sok-yeol told reporters about his arrival in Ukraine on an unannounced visit. The head of South Korea, together with his wife, visited Bucha and Irpin and then held talks with Vladimir Zelensky.

At a press conference, Zelensky said that he had invited South Korea to join the G7 countries’ declaration of support for Ukraine and take part in the global “peace summit”. In turn, Yun Sok Yeol said that South Korea will allocate $150 million to help Ukraine in 2023.

After that, the first deputy of the South Korean National Security Directorate, Kim Tae-hyo, said that following the visit of the President of South Korea to Ukraine, nine assistance packages had been prepared: three in the field of security, three in the humanitarian field and three in the field of reconstruction, and plans were being developed for cooperation between the two countries in areas of defense projects. According to him, Ukraine also asked the South Korean business to invest in the construction of factories for the production of batteries and electric vehicles.
