Turkey has overcome the peak of inflation, said the head of the country’s Ministry of Finance.

Turkish Minister of Finance and Treasury Nureddin Nebati said that the country has left the peak of inflation behind and entered a downward trend in this indicator.

Annual inflation in Turkey slowed down in November for the first time in a year and a half – to 84.39% from 85.51% in October, the National Institute of Statistics (TUIK) said earlier on Monday. The increase in consumer prices in November, according to the agency, amounted to 2.88%.

“Unless there is an unexpected global development, we have left the peak of inflation behind us and entered a downtrend,” Nebati wrote on Twitter.
