German Interior Minister Nancy Feser recommended that the Germans stock up on food and medicine at home in case of an emergency.

“If electricity goes out for a long time or daily life is otherwise limited, it would be wise to have an emergency supply of food at home in any case,” the minister said.

Feather added that government civil defense measures should include not only technical issues, but also stockpiles of food, medicines and medical supplies. She recommended that you familiarize yourself with the list of the Ministry of Internal Affairs for the protection of the population, which describes the necessary food package per person in an emergency for ten days.

This list includes 20 liters of water, 3.5 kilograms of cereals, bread, pasta and potatoes, 2.5 kilograms of fruits and nuts, 4 kilograms of vegetables, 2.6 liters of milk and dairy products, 1.5 kilograms of meat, fish, eggs and egg powder, 357 grams of fats and oils, other products to taste, such as honey or chocolate. The document also provides recommendations on the collection of a first-aid kit at home in case of emergency.
