Prince Charles praises NHS as he opens cancer treatment centre

The British heir praised the NHS for the braveness of the medical staff during the pandemic. Prince of Wales has opened on Wednesday a new facility providing ground-breaking cancer treatment, Daily Mail reports.

Prince Charles has attended the opening ceremony in the University College Hospital Grafton Way Building. The £380-million-worth project that has been caring for patients since late last year.

Marking the NHS’ milestone, Prince Charles said that professionalism and resilience of the British medical staff has saved thousands of lives during the COVID-19 pandemic. On Wednesday, the heir to throne formally launched the site providing cutting-edge Proton Beam Therapy (PBT) and home to one of the largest treatment centres for blood disorders.

In his impromptu speech, queen’s son called an event as a remarkable achievement and added “I can only offer my congratulations to all those who played such an important part, let alone all those genius physicists who actually understand how the Proton Beam Therapy works, which is truly remarkable.”
