The migrant crisis is deepening in the USA while the American Custom Border Protection (CPB) fires tear gas after 100 caravan migrants try to cross over from Tijuana to San Diego on December, 31.
Tijuana authorities said the teargas attack was aimed at rock throwers on the Mexican side, the CPB had to hurdle two smoke bombs at the migrants, holding them back. The decision to use the tear gas caused a stir on the social media, and the Department of Homeland Security accused the ‘violent mob of migrants’ of initiating attacks against Border Patrol agents.
Despite the cruel decision of Tijuana authorities, these countermeasures successfully suppressed the rock throwers from Central America causing them to flee the area. The members of the migrant group who provoked the US border agents arrived last month with a caravan which set out from Honduras.
The last day of 2018 was very busy for the border protection agents who were ordered to fire tear gas into Mexico during the first hours of the new year to repel about 150 Central Americans who they claimed were trying to breach the border fence in Tijuana.
‘The agents involved should be applauded for handling the situation with no reported injuries to the attackers.
‘Initial reporting indicates that once the attempted illegal entry was thwarted by agents, the mob began pushing women and minors to the front, forcing minors to climb dangerous concertina wire, and encouraged conveniently invited media to begin filming their illegal acts,’ reads the CPB statement on the situation in the San Diego Sector border.
