Prince George and Princess Charlotte always looking good, stylish and a bit old-fashioned, their clothes are chosen by mother Kate Middleton. The British people were happy to see the young Cambridges in the Trooping the Colour parade last weekend. So why the youngsters wear such costumes?
To be prince or princess means to wear special clothes, even if you are the toddler. That’s why the Duhess of Cambridge prefers to wear her offspring according to this rule. The Royals were out in force at the weekend for the Trooping the Colour parade, and Prince George and Princess Charlotte stole the show yet again.
The adorable Charlotte wore a pretty floral dress to match Kate’s outfit, while her big brother wore cute burgundy dungarees with a smart shirt. The fashion critics noticed that the outfits are quite traditional, but there is another opinion – kids dressed a bit old-fashioned.
Fashion, Royals, and Buckingham style
Fashion and the atmosphere of Buckingham Palace are different things, the British monarchy is the solid tradition, including the dress protocol for every kind of occasion. That’s why the kids of any royal are dressed a bit outdated. But stylish, no option! Thanks to childrenswear designer Rachel Riley, who has created outfits for Prince George, it’s about looking timeless in pictures too. That is an answer to the question – why the kids look a bit old-fashioned?
Rachel Riley in her interview to The Telegraph explained:
‘The reason why I design clothes that way is because if they wear very simple things, it’s about the child, and it’s timeless in that you can’t really date a specific photo or put them in something that seems out of date’.
Prince George and his little sister are going for clothing that is classic and timeless, rather than clothes that draw attention to them. That is designer’s wisdom, isn’t it?
