Prince Harry welcomed the ex-president Barack Obama at Kensington Palace whose visit comes a little over a year since the last official trip of Barack and Michelle to London.
Kensington Palace twitted officially about the meeting of Prince Harry and Barack Obama who ‘discussed support for veterans, mental health, conservation, empowering young people and the work of their respective foundations.’ The former US President expressed also his condolences to the victims of the terror attack in Manchester. The ex-president offered support for the survivors and wished the speedy recovery from injuries.
That wasn’t the first visit of Obama to London, last year the presidential couple, Barack and Michelle, was welcomed at Kensington Palace by none other than Prince Harry. Last summer, the VIP guests from the USA had a dinner with members of the royal family.
Barack Obama’s post-presidency work
In 2017, Barack Obama came to London to discuss with Harry issues of wild nature conservation, support for veterans, mental health and other. It is worth to note that Michelle and Barack Obama was steadily deepening the relationship with the Windsors for the last few years.
Harry’s brother, William, visited the White House, where he and Obama discussed issues of the wildlife conservation. Prince William is an activist whose foundation is fighting against an illegal wildlife trafficking. The visit of Obama to Kensington Palace this weekend signals for the deepening of the relationship with the Windsor family and Obamas’ intentions to solid it in the foreseeable future.
