Donald Trump hosted Mahmud Abbas in the White House for the conversation about a Middle East peace agreement. On Wednesday, the Palestinian leader could appreciate Trump’s trademark bravado while President promises to get the peace deal in the Middle East.
The American leader bravely plunged into the diplomatic conversation with Mr Abbas and encouraged him with the words “We will get it done,” meaning the peace deal in the Middle East. if it is so easy, why President trump didn’t do it earlier?
Trump said, flaunting his deal-making prowess during a first meeting with the veteran Palestinian leader that marked the start of a quixotic presidential effort. The American leader brushed aside the entire complex of different cobwebs of the decades-old conflict and pointed to talk Abbas that together with the Israelis they could bag “the toughest deal to make.”
“It is something that I think is frankly, maybe not as difficult as people have thought over the years,”
US president said, emanating his trademark bravado.
Donald Trump as a facilitator for the Middle East crisis
The US President could be a possible facilitator for the future peace deal, say the observers after the meeting of Trump and Abbas on Wednesday. But there is another point of view on the Israeli-Palestinian crisis. Prior to welcome Mahmud Abbas, Trump was receiving prime minister Benjamin Netanyahu at the White House, during that meeting the US President also showed he was willing to press Israel on West Bank settlement building, a longstanding concern of Palestinians and much of the world.
During the conversation with Mr Abbas, the American leader said that he would play the role of “a mediator, or an arbitrator, or a facilitator.”
