Turkish media holdings terminated contracts with Reuters.

Turkish media holdings Albayrak and TürkMedya said on Tuesday that they had terminated their contracts with the British Reuters agency after its article with unfounded accusations against Turkish President Tayyip Erdogan and his son Bilal.

Fahrettin Altun, head of Turkish presidential administration relations, said on Monday that Reuters had “humiliated itself” with an article “full of baseless accusations” against Turkish President Bilal Erdogan’s son about his alleged financial dealings with a Swedish company and a “bribery scheme.” Earlier, official Ankara repeatedly accused Reuters of disseminating unreliable and fake news about the republic.

“Albayrak Medya Holding announces the unilateral termination of the contract with the Reuters news agency,” the holding said on Twitter.

The holding includes Yeni Şafak newspaper, TVNET channel and a number of other media.

Also, the TürkMedya holding, which manages the Akşam, Star newspapers, 24tv and tv360 TV channels, announced the termination of the contract with Reuters.
