Turkey has urged residents to be more careful due to forest fires.

Vice President of Turkey Cevdet Yilmaz on the social network X called on local residents to be more careful about forest fires and prevent their occurrence, as well as follow the warnings of the authorities.

Earlier, the Minister of Agriculture and Forestry of the Republic, Ibrahim Yumakli, said that the risk of forest fires would remain in the country in the next three days. A forest fire in Izmir in the west of the country has already reached residential areas; Turkish authorities have so far been unable to bring the fire under control due to strong winds.

“Extreme heat, low humidity and strong winds create an extremely high risk of fire. During this period, our responsibility as a society is to refrain from any actions that could lead to a fire. Intervention after a fire is of course very important. But also “It’s more important to make efforts to prevent a fire from occurring. Let’s follow the warnings of the authorities, show maximum attention and urge everyone around us to act carefully,” Yilmaz wrote.
