Trade between China and the United States in the first half of 2024 decreased by 0.2% year on year, amounting to $322.63 billion, according to data released on Friday by the General Administration of Customs of the People’s Republic of China.

The United States remained China’s third largest trading partner after ASEAN and the European Union.

According to Chinese customs data, exports from China to the United States in January-June grew by 1.5% year-on-year to $241.265 billion, while the United States imported $81.368 billion worth of goods into China, down 4.9%. than for the same period last year.

Separately, in June, the level of trade between the two countries amounted to $59.247 billion, the United States imported $13.735 billion worth of goods to China, and $45.512 billion from China to the United States.
