Tori Spelling and Jennie Garth developing a CBS show based on 90210

Two famous Hollywood blondes, Tori Spelling and Jennie Garth, announced their joint plans on tapping into their Beverly Hills, 90210. Both them have enough experience for another version of iconic 90s TV shows “based loosely on the series.”

Tori Spelling, an owner of SBC Studio Center, was happy to tweet that 90210 is coming back. Garth-Spelling plan is for the two of them to play “exaggerated versions” of themselves, and while nothing is officially on the books yet, they reportedly “attended development meetings” about this project on Friday.

Tori Spelling who played Donna in original father’s TV show Beverly Hills, 90210 alluded to on Instagram with a photo from the CBS lot with various 90210 and Garth-related hashtags. The implication here is that this show would be more about Spelling and Garth’s friendship than something akin to a 90210 update.

In the 2000s, the producers made an attempt to revive another the cult TV show, Melrose Place, which was a spin-off of teenagers-oriented 90210. That time, the efforts weren’t crowned by success.

Regarding Beverly Hills, 90210, it still remains to be seen if this project will even reach the pilot stage. At this point, it mostly just exists on social media. However, Tori Spelling has enough funds and power to make any project. The question is – will the refreshed Beverly Hills, 90210 interesting for the teens auditory now?
