There is no diplomatic solution to the conflict with Israel yet, Lebanon said.

There is no diplomatic solution to the conflict with Israel yet, Lebanon said.

There are currently no paths to a diplomatic solution to the Lebanese-Israeli conflict, as Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu seeks to expand the scope of the war,  Zafer Nasser, a member of the leadership of the Progressive Socialist Party (PSP) said.

“There is no diplomatic way yet to stop the aggression and encroachments on Lebanese sovereignty by Israel,” Nasser said.

According to the Lebanese politician, Netanyahu does not listen to any international mediators and does not negotiate, planning to expand the scope of the conflict and increasing the force of aggression against Lebanon.

“We hope that the fate of Gaza will not happen to us,” he added.

The meeting between Speaker of Parliament Nabih Berri, (acting) Prime Minister Najib Mikati and PSP head Walid Jumblatt was aimed at reviving the political process in Lebanon… The second purpose of the meeting was to appeal to the international community in the hope of a ceasefire,” Nasser said.

The Lebanese politician noted that the Hezbollah movement has repeatedly confirmed the need to comply with ceasefire resolution 1701 of the UN Security Council. The government expressed its commitment to complying with the terms of the resolution and agreement with the need to deploy additional Lebanese army forces on the border with Israel, however, in the context of massive Israeli bombing, it is not possible for Lebanon to implement such clauses of the resolution, he believes.
