The US House of Representatives commented on Zuckerberg’s recognition.

The admission by the head of the American corporation Meta, Mark Zuckerberg, that American authorities exerted pressure to censor content on social networks demonstrates Washington’s practices of suppressing facts and deliberately spreading false information among the population,  Laurel Lee, a member of the House Judiciary Committee said.

Zuckerberg previously admitted that the Biden administration put pressure on the corporation to censor content on social networks. As the entrepreneur indicated in a letter to the chairman of the House Judiciary Committee, Jim Jordan, Meta was required to “censor” content related to COVID-19, as well as stories about the contents of Hunter Biden’s laptop, which indicated the involvement of the president’s son in criminal activities in the field of drug trafficking and prostitution.

“First of all, it’s a huge victory for the First Amendment that Zuckerberg acknowledged the suppression of information about COVID… And the second thing he mentioned – this is really critical – he admitted that the Hunter Biden laptop story was suppressed.” – she said in an interview with Fox News.

Lee said Zuckerberg’s testimony demonstrates how the Biden administration acted to hide truthful information from public view while simultaneously spreading lies.

“We have 51 members of the intelligence community who simply lied to the Americans and tried to make it look like Russian disinformation, which was not true. And this information was suppressed before the election,” Lee said, referring to the Hunter Biden laptop scandal.

The congresswoman added that Zuckerberg’s letter is very important for the committee because it provides an opportunity to show the real facts of what was happening at that time.

In October 2020, the New York Post published a series of emails to Hunter Biden, which mentioned that he represented his father, when he was vice president of the United States, to his employers at the Ukrainian firm Burisma. Former US President Donald Trump claimed that Biden Jr. received millions of dollars for lobbying work to “sell” access to his father.

The correspondence was allegedly found on Hunter Biden’s laptop, which was found in a repair shop in Delaware. Later, the same laptop became the source of scandalous personal photographs of the president’s son, in which he was depicted with drugs and prostitutes.
