The United States demanded that Hungary quickly ratify Sweden’s membership in NATO.

National Security Advisor to the US President Jake Sullivan warned that American patience is not unlimited, and Washington is waiting for Hungary to ratify Sweden’s membership in NATO as soon as possible.

After Turkey withdrew its objections to the expansion of the alliance, Hungary remains the only country that has not yet ratified the Swedish application.

“I will not stand here today making specific threats or speculation about steps we might take, but of course our patience on this matter is not unlimited,” Sullivan said at a news conference at NATO headquarters in Brussels.

He added that the United States will continue to “closely monitor the situation” and look forward to its “constructive resolution in the very near future.”
