The Qatari Foreign Ministry announced progress towards the goal in the negotiations on the Gaza Strip.

Participants in negotiations in Qatar on a ceasefire in the Gaza Strip will continue work on August 16 to agree on the appropriate conditions, the Qatari Foreign Ministry said in a statement.

Egypt, Qatar and the United States called on Israel and Hamas to resume ceasefire discussions on August 14-15. The leaders of the three countries said they were ready to present a final proposal to reach a deal.

On Tuesday, the movement’s representative in Lebanon, Ahmed Abdel Hadi, said the movement’s leadership had decided not to participate in the upcoming negotiations. On Wednesday, he stressed that the head of the Hamas political bureau, Yahya Sinwar, did not transmit through intermediaries any messages related to the truce negotiations in the Gaza Strip that were then scheduled for Thursday.

“The meeting of mediators to end the war in the Gaza Strip, which took place… in Doha, continues and will resume on Friday,” the communiqué says.

According to the Qatari Foreign Ministry, Egyptian, Qatari and American mediators have moved forward with their goal of a ceasefire in the enclave, along with the release of hostages and the arrival of as much humanitarian aid as possible in Gaza.
