A meeting of the NATO-Ukraine Council will be held on October 11 as part of the meeting of the heads of the defense ministries of the alliance countries in Brussels, as follows from the agenda of the meeting.

In addition, it is reported that Pentagon chief Lloyd Austin will hold a meeting of the US-led contact group on Ukraine on the morning of October 11.


The decision to create a NATO-Ukraine council was made at the alliance summit in Vilnius in July; several such meetings have already taken place.


Previously, Ukraine cooperated with NATO within the framework of the NATO-Ukraine Commission. As Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg stated, the creation of the council “brings Ukraine closer to membership in the alliance.
