The Italian Foreign Minister named the priorities of the country’s G7 presidency.

The priorities of Italy’s upcoming presidency of the G7 will be conflicts in Ukraine and the Middle East, as well as the topic of artificial intelligence, said Foreign Minister and Deputy Prime Minister of Italy Antonio Tajani.

“In foreign policy, we indicated three points as foreign policy priorities: the situation in Ukraine, the Middle East and artificial intelligence,” he said during one of the sessions at the conference of Italian ambassadors at the Italian Foreign Ministry.

According to Tajani, the first meeting at the Foreign Ministry level will be held on the island of Capri. The second event will be organized in the Lazio metropolitan area in the city of Fiugi after the summer holidays.

The Italian minister added that new interlocutors such as Australia and New Zealand will be invited to G7 meetings to discuss the situation in the Pacific region.

In November, Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni said the 2024 G7 leaders’ meeting, chaired by Italy, would be held June 13-15 in the southern region of Puglia.
