The leader of the Shiite Ansar Allah movement (Houthis) ruling in northern Yemen, Abdel Malik al-Houthi, said that their forces fired a “modernized” missile at the city of Eilat this week, causing concern in Israel.
⠀
“This week we carried out operations using 18 ballistic and cruise missiles, as well as drones. One of the most important this week was a very alarming operation against a target in occupied Umm al-Rashrash (Israeli Eilat) using a modernized missile.” , al-Houthi noted.
⠀
According to him, the missile was able to reach Umm al-Rashrash, bypassing all American and Israeli surveillance and interception systems. “There is a clear and tangible development in our capabilities, and the enemy first noticed this in the use of ballistic missiles to destroy ships at sea,” the Houthi leader added.
⠀
He noted that this week the Yemeni navy carried out a new operation in the Indian Ocean, so it has launched 479 missiles and drones since October.
⠀
At the same time, al-Houthi hinted that the Yemeni armed forces have even more modern weapons, saying that “there are larger important and serious developments, but we will first show them in action and then we will talk.”

The Iran-backed Ansar Allah movement announced on October 10 that it would support Palestinian resistance to the Israeli army in the Gaza Strip with missile and air attacks and other military means.
