The head of Nord Stream 2 spoke about the conversation with Putin on the subject of special military operation.

The executive director of Nord Stream 2 AG, Matthias Warnig, said that after the start of the Russian special operation in Ukraine, he met and talked in Moscow with President Vladimir Putin.

As noted, there are no witnesses to this conversation, however, according to Warnig himself, he asked the head of state a question about Moscow’s goals.

“Do you want Odessa, Kharkov, all of Ukraine or even more?” Warnig allegedly said then.

According to him, Putin did not answer the question, explaining that “this is a state secret.” It is noted that the meeting took place several months after the start of the special operation.

The US Treasury Department last February imposed sanctions against Nord Stream 2 AG and Warnig himself. In May last year, Warnig and ex-Chancellor of Germany Gerhard Schroeder announced the impossibility of extending their powers on the board of directors of Rosneft.
