The Estonian Prime Minister supported the Czech Republic’s initiative to supply shells to Ukraine.

Estonian Prime Minister Kaja Kallas supported the initiative of Czech President Petr Pavel on the possibility of finding several hundred thousand shells outside the European Union to help Ukraine.

Kallas noted that now it is necessary to use all opportunities to supply shells to Ukraine.

“The President of the Czech Republic looked into this issue and, so to speak, found out how much there is. We definitely need to discuss this at the European level, especially with those countries that have not done so much to ensure that Ukrainians receive this help now and could protect yourself,” Kallas told the Estonian broadcasting portal ERR on Sunday.

Czech President Petr Pavel said on Saturday that Prague has found opportunities outside the European Union to purchase 800 thousand artillery shells, which the country can supply to Ukraine within a few weeks with financial support from the United States, Germany, Sweden or other countries.

In early February, it became known that the Czech Republic was looking for ammunition from arms companies, for example, from South Korea, Turkey and South Africa.
